Jr. Kernel Choir
2015-2016
Hello,
My name is Mrs. Bruguier and I am the elementary music teacher for LB Williams! As we are all looking forward to an exciting school year I would like to extend an invitation for your son/daughter to join the Jr. Kernel Choir. This choir is an extra curricular group open to all 4th and 5th grade students who love to sing!! We meet outside the school day and it is NOT graded. There is no cost to participate!
What will my child do in choir?
Rehearsals will focus on singing technique, more challenging literature, and performance skills. This is a fun group that helps prepare students for choir in years to come.
When does the choir rehearse?
We meet every Tuesday, beginning September 29th. Rehearsals begin right before school at 7:45 and end promptly at 8:15am. Students should eat breakfast beforehand.
What is the attendance policy?
All choir members are required to attend each rehearsal to be able to adequately learn the music to perform. Absences from rehearsal may be considered excused or unexcused.
How will the teacher handle behavior problems?
Being a member of Jr. Kernel Choir is a privilege. Students are expected to be attentive, courteous, and to participate at all times. Behavior issues will be dealt with in the following manner:
First offence: warning
Second offence: letter or phone call to parents
Third offence: dismissal from group
When does the choir perform? (potential opportunities)
Letters will come home in advance to tell families the dates and any additional information.
Parents can sign up for a remind to get texts from Mrs. B about concert dates, reminders, etc.
Just text @kernel1 to the number 81010
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by email at [email protected]
Thank you,
Kim Bruguier
